UPDATE: AC/DC drummer Paul Rudd has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill and drug possession.

In our inaugural blog post, we reported on how former AC/DC drummer Paul Rudd had been arrested and charged in New Zealand with attempting to procure a murder following reports of days of partying at Rudd’s waterfront mansion in Tauranga, New Zealand.

The charge was eventually dropped by prosecutors, who preferred to rely on threatening to kill and drug possession. While the earlier charge has a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail, the latter has a maximum of 7 years under s 306(1)(a) of the Crimes Act 1961 (NZ).

Court documents reportedly revealed that Rudd was arrested in September last year for threatening to kill a contractor and his daughter.

The possession charges relate to 0.71 grams of methamphetamine and 130 grams of cannabis.

Rudd will be sentenced for both charges on 26 June 2015. His lawyer has indicated that he will be seeking to have the matter dispensed with without conviction.
